What safety precautions has the museum in place for Covid-19?

You can rest assured we have followed HSE guidance to make your museum visit as comfortable as possible in the era of Covid-19. We have developed a one-way walk-through system and placed limits on numbers for social distancing. We regularly sanitise the key touch points throughout the museum and the artefacts and have ensured adequate ventiliation indoors. Visitors should wear masks as advised by current Covid-19 guidelines.

How can I book tickets?
You can book your tickets through our online portal here. If you are planning a school or group tour, please get in touch with us via phone or email to discuss your requirements.
Do you have onsite toilets and amenities?
Yes, you will find toilets onsite with disability access and baby change stations. Our other amenities including an outdoor picnic area, a marquee for shade cover, and a free playground to keep the kids entertained with slides, swings and a mini obstacle course. We also offer camping amenities; these must be booked in advance. Please contact us to find out more.
Are food and drinks available?
You can purchase coffee, tea and life refreshements at the museum’s onsite cafe. You are also welcome to bring a full picnic with you to enjoy in our picnic area. During special events such as at our Living History Weekends or live music events, hot food will be present onsite and a party menu also available for both young and old.
Is there disability access to the museum?
Yes, we offer full disability access to the museum. The facility is wheelchair friendly throughout, and the outdoor area is both sloped and accessible.
Can I make a group booking?
Yes we encourage you to visit our museum with your school or adult tour group. Group tours can be separated into pods to observe COVID-19 guidelines. For further information and to book, please either phone or email us with your preferred dates, tour numbers and any special requirements.
Can my child have a birthday party at the museum?
Our outdoor inflatable obstacle course is the perfect place for a child’s birthday party. Birthday groups have exclusive access to the inflatable obstacle course for pre-booked times. Otherwise the course is opened to the public but your group can continue to enjoy the course until 5pm. Birthday party bookings require a minimum of 10 children. You can also opt to include pizza, chicken nuggets, cocktail sausages and chips to feed your hungry guests. The only thing you need to bring is your birthday cake! Museum admission is not included in the price of your ticket. Can I bring my school group to the museum?
The Irish Military Museum And Park is a fantastic experience for students where they can touch, feel and handle a wide variety of wartime memorabilia, deactivated weaponry, equipment, military vehicles and uniforms from around the world. Students will have fun while learning about the evolution of weaponry and the the impact of war on technology development.
